What is soy foam?
For years, furniture companies have taken this soy foam and given it the true test- time. Over time, this soy foam has proven to be smoother in texture and matches the traditional petroleum-based foam in durability without the guilt of being a contributor to our environmental issues.
As "Green" options grow in popularity and awareness, consumers are seeking new and innovative ways to go green. "Soy foam" is just one of the many products available now in the furniture industry which can be found in sofas, mattresses, and recliners. The "soy" in "soy foam" refers to the soy polyols used to produce the flexible foam. With polyols being one of the primary ingredients in the flexible foam, manufactures previously produced these using petroleum-based polyols. Over the years, manufacturers found that producing the foam with soy based polyols not only are consistent in production, but also high in quality, and require less non-renewable energy, resulting in less global-warming emissions than petroleum-based polyols. |
