Soy "Green" Foam

Eco Friendly Green Sofa Options are now available on almost all of The Sofa Companies custom products. Although our furniture company and industry is quickly changing with the rest of the world in terms of being eco-conscious, many environmentally friendly options are still a bit higher in price and scarcity. Instead of immediately switching all of our components and driving up prices, we are gradually including some standard GREEN options while offering others as a choice. FSC Certified Sustainable Wood

The Sofa Company always explores eco-friendly, earth improving building materials. Since our sofas generally are made from wood frames, pine or alder hardwood, we wanted to make sure we were promoting good methods of harvesting and using wood components. Since the world is definitely needing more trees in these days of increasing pollution and population explosion, using wood from sustainably harvested forests is extremely important to us. Our frame woods are certified from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which certifies forests with the affiliated Rainforest Alliance.

Made Locally by Local People

The Sofa Company's factory and showrooms also hope to contribute to the environment by limiting the amount of travel time required to make, sell and deliver you a piece of furniture. With gas prices soaring and shooting towards the ozone, buying products that don’t have to log huge amounts of mileage contributes in a valuable way.

Water Based Glue and Stains

Water-based wood stains and glue are as protective and supportive to wood as chemical based replacements for the most part. In place of petroleum-derived solvents, they use water, making then preferable in terms of health and environmental impacts. Why use more chemicals when we can avoid it?

Bamboo

One of the most eco-friendly, green materials around is actually the grass known as bamboo. While it has been around for a long time, recently a lot more options have become available with techniques to flatten and press it into building boards. TSC is experimenting with different bamboo sofa options which minimally included legs and table accents, but go as far as complete frames and sofa panels made from bamboo. Eco Green Fabrics

Green now refers to more than just the color...As "Going Green" is becoming more and more the norm, fabric mills are beginning to launch a whole array of natural fabrics. Also, recycled materials are now commonplace and can be considered equally if not more so environmentally friendly. The Sofa Company prides itself on having the absolute most complete line of fabrics in town. Please come visit us for literally thousands of covers, many of which are now "green".

Recyclable Metal

Metal materials are recyclable which is an eco-friendly alternative that is available. While not all of our frames can be built out of only metal affordably at this time, we have a large selection of metal legs and bases that make an excellent accessory to any sofa style. Refresh and Recycle your Sofa

Often it is not remarkably inexpensive to recover / reupholster your old sofa when your sofa needs a makeover. However, we have a opportunity for all purchasers of our designs to REFRESH their sofa when the time comes. This means that instead of filling another landfill with a big bulky sofa, we have very low and affordable options to recover our own product designs.
