Venice Family Health Clinic

Venice Family Health Clinic was founded in 1970 with the mission to provide free, quality health care to people in need and has since grown to the nation’s largest free clinic. Today they operate with nearly 1,900 volunteers and $10.5 million in-kind contributions. The Clinic provides comprehensive primary health care, mental health services, health education and child development services, as well as public insurance enrollment to more than 21,000 patients, including approximately 5,500 children, who make over 116,000 visits. Prescription medicines are provided at no charge.

I choose Venice Family Clinic because I admire the volunteers who donate their valuable time and medical skills to help the people and families who are in need. Having been in situations where I was not covered by insurance at a time when an unexpected medical expense has come up, I know how stressful and costly getting the needed treatment and prescriptions can be. I can only imagine how much harder it would be for a parent in that situation with a child that needed to see a doctor. I think it is a great service that the clinic provides to the community and was particularly impressed the extensive list of programs that they offer.
